General Attendance

Marking its third consecutive year, the Agrifood Open Day is set to unite stakeholders from the agrifood sector for profound discussions at regional, national, and European levels. The event will center on the pivotal role of innovation, entrepreneurship, and education in shaping the future of agrifood systems.This occasion will be dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing and potential synergies among diverse players in the agrifood industry. Farmers, startups, investors, corporates, SMEs, scientific institutions, as well as government entities, will participate to explore new avenues of collaboration. The ultimate aim is to contribute to a more innovative, sustainable, trusted and resilient agrifood value chain.The Agrifood Open Day is organized by BGI (EIT Food's contact point in Portugal), with the support of EIT Food, the Municipality of Arruda dos Vinhos and from Food4Sustainability.

Soil Microbiology Mini-Conference

Call For Abstracts

Food4Sustainability and BGI are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts for the second Soil Microbiology Mini-Conference in the upcoming AgriFood Open Day is now open!

This second edition is your chance to showcase groundbreaking research and innovative bio-based solutions on the role and impact of soil microbiota in soil health and productivity.

Submit your abstracts

We invite you to submit abstracts on the following topics: 

-Technologies for bio-based solutions: Innovating in the production of biofertilizers, biostimulants, and other organic fertilisers. 

-Microbial Solutions for Soil Health: Leveraging beneficial microbes to enhance soil fertility and plant health.

-Bioremediation: Using microorganisms to detoxify polluted soils and water, restoring environmental health.

-Biopesticides and Biocontrol Agents: Developing microbial solutions to combat pests and diseases, reducing reliance on chemical pesticides.

Your contributions will play a pivotal role in fostering knowledge exchange and driving positive change for a more sustainable and thriving future in agriculture and food production. Submissions that showcase innovative research, bio-based solutions, or practical applications for policymakers and industry stakeholders are particularly encouraged.

Submission guidelines:

Abstracts should not exceed 250 words. Please include the title, author(s), affiliation(s), and contact details with your submission. Submit your abstract by 2 of June. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by 7th of June.
