What is it?
Many agrifood startups struggle to bridge the gap between technological validation and true market adoption.
The Agrifood Roadmap to Market is designed for innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers in the agrifood sector working at TRL 4-7, with an incorporated startup or plans to incorporate one.
Through a combination of online and in-person sessions, participants will understand their current market stage, co-create and refine their validation roadmap with input from industry experts, and develop their understanding of what it takes to become investment ready, including the role of impact in investment decisions.
By the end of the program, participants will have a practical plan, a stronger network, and a clearer path towards market and investment readiness.

The Agrifood Roadmap to Market combines three complementary sessions designed to support participants across different stages of their journey towards market and investment readiness.
1. Market Readiness Session | Online | 3 hours
Understand Market Readiness Levels, assess your current position and develop a practical roadmap to identify key gaps, milestones and next steps towards the market.
2. Co-Creation & Industry Insights | In-Person, Portugal | 3 hours
Refine your roadmap through hands-on co-creation with industry experts and peers. Exchange insights, challenge your assumptions, explore startup-corporate collaboration opportunities and identify practical approaches to strengthen your path to market.
3. Investment & Impact Readiness Session | Online | 3 hours
Explore what it takes to become investment ready, assess your current level of preparedness, understand the role of impact in investment decisions and address key foundations for future investment.
Who Should Apply?
Innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers in the agrifood sector working in TRL 4-7*, with an incorporated startup or plans to incorporate one.
All applicants may apply provided they are based in Europe or associated countries** but at least one representative of each participating project must be available to attend the in-person session in Portugal.
*TRL 4-7 means Technology Readiness Levels progressing from early experimental proof-of-concept to a system or prototype demonstrated in a relevant environment.
**Find the official list here. For the purposes of this Program, “associated countries” refers only to countries formally associated with Horizon Europe. Countries listed solely as “Other third countries” or under transitional arrangements are not considered associated countries.
